Pangia Technologies plans to hire about 25 people over the next six months. David G. Walker, president and chief executive, talked with The Post's Andrea Caumont.
QWhat does your company do?
AWe mainly provide information technology services to the intelligence community. We do a little bit of everything. We do software engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure services and information assurance. We do a little commercial work but primarily focus on the intelligence community and the Department of Defense.
What do you think your employees would say were the best reasons for working at your company?
What we try to do is really focus on their careers and getting them to where they want to be in their career. We have the small-business kind of feel as well, which a lot of people like. At big companies you get lost in the crowd. We're very personal with everybody. We also offer very good benefits and salaries.
Who owns your company?
Myself and my partner. It's private.
What sense of stability can your company offer job candidates?
I think we can offer them a lot of stability being in the market that we're in right now. The federal government is always spending money and typically every year spends more. Most of our work is in the classified arena so there's not as many people that can do that work. They can't ship it to India.
What are the demographics of your company?
Company-wide we are 24 percent female and 10 percent minority. Within the eight-person senior management team there are four females and no minorities.
What positions do you have available and what level of expertise do you want?
We're looking for 10 information assurance engineers with about five to 10 years of experience and a secret security clearance, three senior-level software engineers, two to three senior J2EE developers, four mid- to senior-level systems administrators, three senior-level technical writers, three senior-level information assurance engineers, one mid-level telecommunications technician, one senior-level optical engineer, one senior-level geospatial engineer and one senior-level wireless engineer. Most of our positions require a top-secret security clearance with polygraph.
