Jinfonet Software plans to hire 10 to 12 people in the next six weeks. John Gularson, executive vice president of operations, talked with The Post's Andrea Caumont.

QWhat does your company do?

AWe bring reporting to operational applications at large companies where they might have an accounts-payable system or an inventory-management system. They've built this system internally to meet their requirements. We power that application with rich, functional reporting. Companies will tell you good reporting is the number one thing they want as end users. They can pull data out of those operations and make better decisions.

What do you think your employees would say were the best reasons for working at your company?

I would say that people like to have goals put in front of them, and we have aggressive growth goals on a tactical and strategic level. We've been achieving our goals year after year since we started, and that's a very satisfying thing for our employees. Being a small company, we have a lot of opportunity for advancement. Our employees really feel like they're contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Who owns your company?

We're employee-owned. Everybody has a piece of the action. Our majority shareholder is our founder, Bing Yao.

What sense of stability can your company offer job candidates?

We're a very profitable organization. If we didn't bring in another dollar we could run on the cash we have for another 21/2 years. We don't have any outside investment, and we have no debt. We're extremely stable. We've been growing about 40 percent year over year.

What are the demographics of your company?

Company-wide we're 50 percent female and 75 percent minority. On the four-person executive management team there are two minorities and no women.

What positions do you have available and what level of expertise do you want?

We're looking for four mid-level enterprise salespeople, one to two telesales representatives, a mid-level public relations manager, a mid-level marketing and communications manager, one or two junior-level systems analysts, and one to two junior-level customer support representatives. All of these positions are in Rockville.
