Two people were stabbed to death and a third injured this morning near a shopping center in Langley Park in Prince George's county, police said.

Prince George's police spokesman Cpl. Joe Merkel said the incident occurred at University Boulevard and New Hampshire Ave near a Toys R' Us store adjacent to a police department community policing center.

Police got the call for the triple-stabbing at about 6:50 a.m. At this point, he said they did not know the motive or have a suspect.

He said two of the victims were declared dead on the scene while a third was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The area is a gathering point for day laborers.

Police this afternoon identified the two dead men as Cesar Mayorga and Anibal Escobar.

Family members told the Associated Press that Mayorga was an immigrant from Guatemala who has three children and a wife in his home country.

Geraldo Vasquez says his cousin left Guatemala four years ago to try and earn more money in America. Once here, Vasquez says his cousin worked off and on but also drank for days at a time.

Family members and neighbors say the men spent a lot of time in the parking lot drinking but were not seen as dangerous.

Police are still trying to figure out if the men were attacked or were fighting amongst themselves.
