On December 15 the National Book Critics Circle announced the final nominations for this year's NBCC awards. Five books are nominated in each of four categories: Fiction, General Nonfiction, Criticism and Poetry. Eligible titles are new books by American authors published in the United States during the calendar year 1980. The final award-winning titles, one in each category, will be announced on January 5.
