On June 18, Alene Desiree Twitty exchanged marriage vows with Michael Joseph Palmer at Peace Lutheran Church, performed by the Rev. Herbert A. Schwandt. The reception followed at the Sheraton Inn, attended by three hundred guests.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wishum Twitty, is a native Washingtonian. Her cousin Caroline Rucker of Bridgeport, Ct. was maid of honor, assisted by Cheri Goldsby, Memphis, Tenn., Cynthia Holmes, Brooklyn, N.Y., Josephine Johnson, White Plains, N.Y., Marsha Owens, Norwalk, Ct., Deborah Smith, Houston, Tx., Deborah Thompson, this city and Linda Warder, Minneapolis, Minn. The bride's niece, Tiffany Twitty, was flower girl with James Earnst Jr. as ring bearer. The groom, son of James W. Palmer of Newport, R.I. and the late Lilian Palmer, was served by his brother, James W. Palmer Jr. as best man. The ushers were: Charles Brownley, Vauxhall, N.J., Jeffrey Denny, this city, Eric Harris, White Plains, N.Y., Billy Malone, New Castle, Pa., Greg Metcalf, Cleveland, Ohio, Everett Meyers, Newport, and Paul Pullins, Silver Spring, Md. The bride's brother, Walter G. Twitty of King Twitty Photographers in Denver, Col., was the photographer.

The former Miss Twitty, a May graduate of Mount Holyoke College, is attending Tuffs Dental School. Mr. Palmer graduated in May from the University of Rhode Island and will be working for the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen in Boston. After honeymooning in Bermuda they will reside in Boston.
