At seven o'clock on the evening of August 20, Diane Dunn and Andrew Steven Appel Levine were married at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Read Patten Dunn Jr. of Chevy Chase, Md. The Rev. John Kurt Lescow of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Waterville, Me. officiated and a reception and dancing followed in the garden. Deidre Houchins was maid of honor and James Grossman, the best man.

The bride's father is a commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Read Patten Dunn of Greenville, Miss. and Mrs. Alfred Benjamin Butts of Washington, D.C., and the late Dr. Butts, formerly chancellor of the University of Mississippi.

Mr. Levine is the son of Robert Erwin Levine of Washington and Mrs. Patience Appel Levine of Bethesda. His father is a management consultant with AAI. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Kenneth Levine of Miami Beach, and Mr. and Mrs. Roberts Rengier Appel of Wilmington, N.C.

The couple are alumni of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. Mrs. Levine graduated from Washington University and received a master of fine arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Mr. Levine graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and in June earned his law degree from Boston University. The newlyweds will reside in Washington where Mr. Levine will be associated with the legal division of the Internal Revenue Service.
