Mrs. Patricia Arnold Williams of Colonial Beach, Va. and Mr. Charles Rossman Rainey of Arlington announce the marriage of their daughter, Karen Anne to Frank Medford Blanchard of Jr., Lt. Cdr. USN, son of Capt. and Mrs. Frank Medford Blanchard of Virginia Beach, on Saturday, the nineteenth of November at the Naval Academy Chapel in Annaplis. The Rev. John Hoying, C.PP.S. of St. Johns Church, Whiting, Ind., presided at the double ring ceremony assisted by Cdr. Frederick J. Murray, CHC, of the U.S. Naval Academy. A reception was held in the Alumni House.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin with an empire bodice and log tapered sleeves trimmed hat which held a fingertip veil. She carried a cascade of white roses surrounding an orchid.

Miss Andrea Stern of Tuckerton, N.J., as maid of honor, was in apricot, and wearing Nile green with matching hats were the bridesmaids: Ms. Cheryl L. Burrell, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Danielle G. Dodd, both of Dahlgren, Va., Mrs. Katherine R. Kline and Miss Scarlett M. Snyder, both of Colonial Beach. Miss Linda Williams was junior bridesmaid for her sister. They carried bouquets of Emily Post roses and daisy mums.

Lt. Crd. Thomas M. Letter of McLean was best man.Lt. Cdr. Ronald L. Lassiter of Newport, R.I., Lt. Cdr. Stanley R. Holm Jr. of Dahlgren, Lt. Cdr. Terry Wight of Alexandria, Lt. Larry A. Froistad, and Lt. Richard A. Drawneck, both of Dahlgren, and Ens. Terrence O'Grady of Rockville, Md., were ushers. John O. Burrell Jr., nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

The couple will reside in Virginia Beach.
