Christmas greens decorated Trinity Presbyterian Church when Jean Lewin Turner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Turner Jr. of Great Falls, Va., was married to Michael Alan Brand, son of Mrs. George Brand of Waterloo, Ind. and the late Mr. Brand. The December 30 candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Charles M. Carlsson Jr. at seven in the evening. A reception followed at the Coomber School of Music in Herndon, after which the couple departed on a wedding trip to the Virgin Islands.
The bride wore a white satin gown trimmed with silk venise lace and she carried a cascade of white roses and Fugi mums surrounded by Christmas greens. Gowned in cranberry jersey were Susan Turner, her sister, as maid of honor, and the bridesmaids, Janice Gardiner, Tracy Haraldsen, Gayle Hammer, Pam Hooper, Marjorie Shapiro, and Elizabeth Van Dissel. James Brand Sr. was best man for his brother and the ushers were, James Brand Jr., Dan Altman, Charles Randel, Garey Wiley, Duane Young, and Mark Turner III, brother of the bride.
The bride majored in astronomy at Radcliffee College and has been pursuing graduate studies at the University of California at berkeley. The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Indiana and Harvard Law School, and is now with a law firm in Denver, Col.
