Cherylen Arlene Martin and Dr. Thomas Robert Martin were married on June at four-thirty in the afternoon at Grace Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Va. The Rev. James E. Atwood, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony uniting the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Edward Martin of Springfield to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Fullmer Martin of Lancaster, Pa., now residing in Spain. The bride is the grandaughter of Lt. Col. (USA ret.) and Mrs. Stuart Parker Dillon of Springfield, and of the late Mrs. Emily Ann Dillon of Morgantown, W. Va. Dr. Martin is the grandson of Mrs. Anna Fullmer Martin of Lancaster. Capt. David Fischer, organist, accompanied Mrs. John Miller, the soloist, who sang, "Wedding Song" and "The Lord's Prayer."

The bride's parents gave a cocktail and dinner reception in the Jamaican Suite and St. Thomas Ballroom of the Springfield Hilton. The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner the preceding evening in the same hotel.

Entrusted to the groom by her father, the bride wore a traditional white satin gown fashioned by Priscilla of Boston featuring a sabrina neckline and empire waist. The bodice and sleeves of English net were re-embroidered with Alencon lace and the chapel length train had appliques of matching lace. She had a full lenght silk illusion veil with hand rolled edge and a blusher attached to a white satin headpiece covered with matching lace, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath. On her finger was her late grandmother's diamond ring and she held an Irish linen handkerchief belonging to her step-grandmother.

Janice Allwine of Severna Park, Md., was the maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Stephen Fox of Falls Church, Wendy McCune of Pittsburgh, Joyce Harshbarger of Elkins, W. Va., and Martha Martin of St. Allans, W.Va. Steven A. Martin of York, Pa., served his brother as best man and the groomsmen were: the bride's brother, Gregory A. Martin, head usher; the groom's brother, Timothy C. Martin, Michael C. Wilds of Lancaster and James Bialek of McKees Rocks, Pa. Mrs. Oswald D. Tolley of Alexandria was coordinator and Mrs. Harold H. Garber of Alexandria attended the guestbook.

Mrs. Martin graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University with a BS in physical education and was affiliated with Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Dr. Martin holds a BS degree from Davis and Elkins College where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He received his masters and a doctoral degree from West Virginia University.

After a honeymoon in Europe, the couple will live in Buckhanmon, W. Va. where Dr. Martin is an assistant professor and the head soccer and tennis coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
