On Saturday, August fifth, the marriage ceremony of Susanna West Winfrey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hermon Winfrey of Alexandria, Va., and Robert Bruce Wilkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Buchanan Wilkins of Bryn Mawr. Pa., was solemnized at Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill in Alexandria. The Rev. William Dols performed the double ring ceremony. The reception was held in the garden of the Lee-Fendall House.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of antique ivory silk organdy fashioned with an empire bodice appliqued with embroidered lace and pearls. Her cathedral length veil fell from a Juliet cap of seed pearls and she carried an heirloom bouquet of eighteenth century-style dried flowers. Elizabeth Temple Musselman was maid of honor and her sister, Mrs. Edes Fitzhugh Talman, was matron of honor; Mrs. Stephen Chenault Winfrey, Mrs. Donald Buchanan Wilkins Jr., and Mildred Ann Hooker, were bridesmaids. They were gowned in blue and white printed voile and carried cascades of pink miniature carnations and trailing ivy.
John Campbell Wilkins served as best man and the ushers were Donald Buchanan Wilkins Jr., Keith Spalding Campbell, Stephen Chenault Winfrey and Edwin Bryan Mahoney.
The couple will reside in Bryn Mawr. Pa., following a wedding trip to Bermuda.
