Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Turner of Washington, D.C. have the pleasure of announcing the engagement of their daughter, Lauran to Jay R Gintel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gintel of Greenwich, Conn. Ms. Turner is a graduate of the Academy of the Washington Ballet and was also on scholarship with the Joffrey Ballet in New York. She hosted the New York. She hosted the program, "The Lively Arts in Conversation," at American University here, where she is a senior to receive a BA in communications in broadcast journalism in December. Her father is president of the International Union of Operating Engineers, and a member of both the Democratic National Committee and of the Executive Council for the AFL-CIO. She is the grand-daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James C. Turner Sr. and of the late Mr. and Mrs. William C. Curis - all of this city.
Mr. Gintel attended Boston University and is a registered representative of Gintel and Company, a member of the New York Stock Exchange. His father is a senior partner of Gintel and Company and also president and chairman of the board of Equity Advisors, a Greenwich-based investment advisor firm. The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Gintel of New York City and of Mr. and Mrs. Benard Ray of Westport, Conn. CAPTION: Picture, no caption
