In the Chapel of the University of Virginia, Ann Kerwin O'Brien, only child of Lt. Col. (USAF ret.) and Mrs. Philips R. O'Brien Jr. of Reston, Va., was wed in a double ring ceremony last Saturday to Clarence Joseph Elder Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Elder of Charlottesville. Father Patrick O'Connor officiated and a reception followed at the Farmington Hunt Club in Charlottesville.

The bride chose a formal gown of white qiana and silk venise lace, fashioned with an A-line skirt which fell into a chapel lenght watteau train. Framing her face was a veil of English illusion and matching lace attached to a profile cap. Her attendants were; Cynthia Pike, Harrington Park, N.J., maid of honor; Joan Hicks, Roanoke; Kim Brown, Vint Hill Station; Diane Nash, Charlottesville; and Mrs. Roxanne Peebles, Virginia Beach, as the bridesmaids with Zlizabeth Bergman as flower girl and her brother, David, the ringbearer. Mr. Elder was his son's best man and the ushers were Brian J. Fuller, Arlington; Randy Ferrell, Lynchburg; Munsey Wheby, Charlottesvill; and Lt. Gerald Peebles.

Mrs. Elder is a second lieutenant in the Air Force Nurses Corp., stationed at Andrews AFB. Mr. Elder is an advertising consultant for the Charlottesville Daily Progress newspaper. CAPTION: Picture, no caption, Gritchell's Studio
