The marriage of Elizabeth Anderson Marion and Joseph Alderson Smith Jr. took place Saturday, May 26, at St. Agnes Church in Arlington. A reception at the Watergate followed.

The bride wore a wedding gown designed by Bianca of white cotton voile trimmed with andalusian lace on the cape collar, the tiered skirt, and train, which was complemented by a matching picture hat. She held a natural arrangement of seasonal white flowers touched with baby's breath and rosebuds. For her attendants - Molly A. Marion of Toronto and Mary Elizabeth Smith (who is a senior at Hollins), sisters of the bridal couple, along with sister-in-law, Ann Smith - the bride chose navy and white dotted swiss dresses, natural straw hats with navy streamers, and bouquets of white flowers and bachelor buttons tied with navy ribbons. Completing the colour scheme were the groomsmen - James Smith of Huntington, W.Va., Matthew A. Marion (a recent Columbia graduate), and S. Steve Chu, Duncan Darrow and Eric Tashman, all of New York City - who had navy blazers, white ducks, and straw boaters.

The new Mrs. Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Anderson Marion Jr. of Arlington, Va., is an alumna of Smith College and a graduate of Elmwood School in Ottawa, Canada, where here father was posted at the U.S. Embassy. Mr. Smith, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Alderson Smith of Dunar, W.Va., is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Virginia Law School. CAPTION: Picture, no caption, Diane Wayman, Photo
