Debra Charisse Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Jones of Washington, D.C., was married to Thaddeus Herbert Williams Jr., son of Mrs. Thaddeus Williams of Lynchburg, Va. and the late Rev. Williams, on July 28 in Upper Room Baptist Church; the Rev. Vincent Allen conducted the double ring ceremony. The reception was held at Skyline Inn.
Lynette Bruce was matron of honor for her sister. Linda Hicks, Victoria Mason, Melba Smith -- all of Washington, D.C., Lisa Jones, Norfolk; Hilda Williams, Lynchburg; Desiree French, New York; and Teressa Mutakabbir, Columbia, S.C.; the bridemaids with Detra Best, Goldsboro, N.C., as junior bridesmaid. Colette Coward, Richmond, was flower girl and Anthony Washington, Tasley, Va., the ring bearer. Jerome Williams was his brother's best man and the ushers were Richard Bruce, William Gray Jr., Frank Williams, all of this city; Shelton Robinson, Goldsboro; Alvin and Calvin Williams, Lynchburg; and Tecumseh Williams, Petersburg, Va.
The bride, a graduate of Hampton Institute, is employed by the Newport News School Board and is also continuing her education at Old Dominion University in Norfolk. Mr. Williams is a graduate of Virginia State University and is employed by ITT. The couple will make their home in Newport News, Va.
