At 3:00 o'clock on August 4, Patricia Ann Semler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Semler of San Diego, Cal., formerly of White Plains, N.Y., was married to Robert Clare Carlson, son of Mrs. Clare Bateman Carlson of Gaithersburg, Md., formerly of Gibsonia, Pa., and the late Mr. Carlson. The Rev. Louis Faust and the Rev. David Andrews performed the double ring ceremony at the Church of the Annunciation in this city. The reception was held at the Cedar Knoll Inn, followed by a dinner at the Mr. Vernon Inn in Mr. Vernon, Va.
Escorted to the altar by her father, a retired CPA and vice-president of RCA in New York City and now president of the Rancho Bernardo Center for Continuing Education, she was attended by Mrs. Patricia Kennedy of Willingboro, N.J., matron of honor; Mrs. R. Eugene Long Jr., Millersville, Md., Maureen Murtaugh, Chicago, Ill; Mrs. Marc Watts, Gaithersburg, sister of the groom; and Mrs. Kidd Covington, San Diego, Cal., sister of the bride, as the bridemaids.
Marc Watts was his brother-in-law's best man assisted by H. Michael and Thomas G. Semler, brothers of the bride; James Ellicott, and David Silverstein, the ushers.
The bride is a graduate of Holy Cross High School, Delran, N.J., received her BA from Marquette University, and holds an MS in radio and television from Syracuse University. The groom has an undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University with an MA in psychology from Temple University.
Mr. and Mrs. Carlson are at home in Gaithersburg, Md., following a wedding trip to Puerto Rico.
