Cheryl Louise Reeves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Reeves of Arlington, and Kevin Scannell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Scannell, also of Arlington, were united in marriage by the Rev. Thomas Casey in a double-ring ceremony at St. Charles Catholic Church on August 25. The reception was held at the Odd Fellows Temple in Falls Church.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a Bianchi original gown. Mrs. Samuel Rodgers, her sister, was matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. John Cornwell, Angela Panolias and Lisa Creamer. James Conners served as the groom's best man and the ushers were Ronald Reeves, Chief USN, brother of the bride; Paul Mulvehill and John Demedio.
Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Williams and Mrs. Albert Skinner, of Essex and Kent, England; Miriam and Priscilla Allen of Dallas, Tx., cousins of the bride.
Pre-nuptial parties were hosted by Mrs. Garnett Harvey, Angela Panolias, and Mrs. L. A. Brown. The bridesmaids were honored by Mrs. Samuel Rodgers and Mrs. Ronald Reeves, and the rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's parents at the Orleans House.
The bride received a degree in fashion merchandising from Northern Virginia Community College and is now jewelry manager at Evans Landmark. The groom is an electrician with Marvin Cowherd Inc. and a member of the Northern Virginia Soccer Association. The couple honeymooned in the Virgin Islands and will be at home after September 3 in Vienna, Va.
