Grace Episcopal Church in Newton, Mass. set the scene when Mary Kistler Stahl was escorted to the altar by her father to exchange marriage vows with Lyle Kenneth Shelly last Saturday at three in the afternoon. The Rev. Thomas Lehman, assisted by Fr. McGlone, performed the double ring ceremony uniting the daughter of Capt. (USN ret.) and Mrs. Lawrence Edwin Stahl of Gulfstream, Fla. to the son of Lt. Col. (USA ret.) and Mrs. Lyle M. Shelly of Waltham, Mass., while Elizabeth Minier Stahl attended her sister as maid of honor. Paula Shelly, the groom's sister, Mrs. Sam Doyle and Nicole Sumner, were bridesmaids. Kevin Colman acted as best man; James Rose, Frank Rowe and Andrew M. Kistler III, cousin of the bride, ushered.

The Country Club of Brookline was chosen for the reception.

The bridal gown was of white organza appliqued with alencon lace fashioned with an empire bodice and complemented by a chapel length train. The pearl necklace and full length handmade Belgian lace heirloom veil was loaned to her by her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Andrew Burnet Stoney of Morganton, N.C. The bride is an alumna of the International School in Belgium and the National Cathedral School here. She attended Briarcliff College (N.Y.) and graduated this past May from Boston College. Her husband is a graduate of Northeastern University and is the owner of Ski and Tennis Chalet in Newton. They will make their home in Needham, Mass., after a wedding trip to South Carolina.
