In the Bethlehem Chapel of the Washington Cathedral, Susan Elizabeth Hammill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Hammill Jr. of this city, married Jeffrey Staurt Bryan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Bryan of Short Hills, N.J., on October 27. The Rev. Craig Eder performed the ceremony with Richard Dirksen at the organ. A reception followed at the Shoreham Hotel.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory organza appliqued with alencon lace, fashioned with a chapel train and floor-length illusion veil with matching lace and pearls. Mrs Jamie Bryan-Henriquez of Honduras, sister of the groom, was matron of honor; Beth Esposito, Laura Moore; Luna Panduro of Copenhagen, Denmark, sister-in-law of the bride, and Cari Sue Moss were bridesmaids with Maya Hammill, niece of the bride, as flower girl. Cornelius Gildea of Buenos Aires, Argentina, served as best man. James Hammill of Copenhagen, brother of the bride, Samuel Gwynne, Michael Lee, and Jaime Henriquez, brother-in-law of the groom, were ushers.
Mrs. Bryan, a graduate of the National Cathedral School and American University, is a program analyst with the Department of Energy. Mr. Bryan, a graduate of Mercersburg Academy, Princeton University with a master's from the Wharton School of Business, is an employe relations representative with PEPCO.
The couple resides in Silver Spring.
