Lydia Snel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Herman Snel of Reston, Va., formerly of Amersfoort, The Netherlands, was married on December 29 to John Finn Brenner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore E. Brenner of Rumson, N.J.

The wedding ceremony took place in St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Herndon, Va. Officiating were the Rev. Ralph W. Bayfield and the Rev. William Schmidt. The bride looked lovely in the French alencon lace wedding dress that her mother wore in Amsterdam 24 years ago. Jane Barnett was maid of honor and Christopher F. X. Brenner, the bridgroom's brother, the best man. A reception followed at the Sheraton International Center in Reston.

The bride received her BS in nursing with honors from the University of Virginia last May and is presently working as a registered nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Her father is a staff member of the World Bank in this city.

The bridegroom, a Phi Beta Kappa 1977 summa cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, will graduate from the University of Virginia School of Law in May and will be an associate with the firm of McCarter and English, Newark, N.J. His father is president of the Soap and Detergent Association, a National Trade Association of New York City.
