Snow flakes covered St. John's Episcopal Church in Chevy Chase, Md. on Saturday at four in the afternoon of January 5 when Elizabeth Mickle Fox, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Mickle Fox III of Bethesda, Md., became the bride of Dr. Clarence Edgar Zimmerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Ralph Zimmerman Jr. of Lancaster, Pa. The Rev. Robert E. Daly performed the cememony with readings by John MacRae Fox, brother of the bride. The reception was held at the Army Navy Club.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore her mother's white organza wedding dress accented by appliques of alencon lace. She was attended by her sister, Emily Randall Fox, as maid of honor; the bridesmaids were Anne Merrit Richardson, Mrs. Gustav von Schulthess, and Catherine and Isabel Zimmerman, the groom's daughters. Prof. John E. Dowling was best man assisted by the groom's brothers, Simon R. III, Edward W., and Herbert W. Zimmerman with Dr. John C. May and the bride's brother, Lt. (j.g.) Samuel M. Fox IV, USN.
The bride is a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Wellesley College and Boston University (Ed.M.). She was a curriculum writer and instructor at Boston University. Her father is Professor of Medicine and Head of the Exercise Laboratory at Georgetown University.
Dr. Zimmerman, an alumnus of the Lawrenceville School, graduate Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Yale College and from Harvard Medicial School, where is now assistant professor of surgery. He is also head of the Renal Transplants Unit at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. His father is retired Chairman of the Board of Raybestos-Manhattan Corporation.
The newlyweds honeymooned in New Orleans, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.
