Dr. and Mrs. Warren J. Strudwick of Washington, D.C. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Christina, to Reginald Lamar Turner, son of Mrs. Corine Turner Graves and stepson of Mr. Thomas O. Graves of Palo Alto, Cal.
Ms. Strudwick, a graduate of Sidwell Friends School and Boston University, holds the juris doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center, and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the D.C. Chapter of Links, Inc. A former law clerk to the Honorable H. Carl Moultrie, Chief Judge of the D.C. Superior Court, she is a staff attorney with the Public Defender Service of the District of Columbia. The bride-elect is the beloved granddaughter of the late Mrs. Laura B. Askew and of Mr. John B. Catoe of Suitland, Md. and the late Dr. and Mrs. William C. Strudwick of Durham, N.C.
Mr. Turner is assoicated with the Beverly Hills, Cal. law firm of Schiff, Hirsch and Schrieber, and was formerly with International Management Group, a sports management firm. An honors graduate of Stanford University (Cal.), he received the juris doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and as a student was active in student recruitment for Stanford, the national voter registration drive, and the Black American Law Students Association. v
The wedding will take place August 17 in Zion Baptist Church in this city, after which couple will live in Los Angeles.
