In the Chapel of Iolani School, Honolulu, Hawaii, Nancy O'Brien was married to Benjamin Phillips, Jr., Capt. USAF, in a formal double-ring ceremony at noon on Thursday, April 24th. Diane Riscassi, Honolulu and West Hartford, Ct. was maid of honor; the groom's sister, Amy Phillips, Houston, Tx. and Mrs. Peter Robb, Honolulu, were bridesmaids. The best man: Capt. Richard Odegard, Lubbock, Tx., and usher, Capt. Joseph Dowdy, stationed in New Mexico, AF Academy graduates and F-15 pilots, served the groom along with the bride's brother, John T. O'Brien, Jr., Falls Church, and Jeffery M. Hackler of the National Endowment of the Arts in this city. A reception followed at the Army's Cannon Club on the slope of Diamond Head.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas O'Brien of Honolulu, is on the faculty of Ascension Academy in Alexandria and a graduate of the Punahou School and of University of Hawaii.

Capt. Phillips is the son of Col. Benjamin W. Phillips, USA ret., of Saint Simons Island, Ga. and the late Esther Phillips -- the noted educator in Hawaii. He is a 1975 graduate of the Air Force Academy and presently in training to fly F-15 jets at Holloman AF Base in New Mexico. In November, he and his bride will be in Okinawa, when he will begin a tour of duty at the Air Force Base there.
