Sandra Anne Cockrell and Donald John Anderson were married April 26, in the Washington Street United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Va., with the Rev. John McKenry, Jr. performing the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Vernon Cockrell of Alexandria. Mr. Anderson's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson of Warwick, R.I.The reception was held at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white sata peau gown with re-embroidered Alencon lace, seed pearls and sequins on the bodice, sleeves and high scalloped neckline. The cathedral train fell from the A-line skirt which featured a double lace insert and a wide scalloped lace hem. A waltz length mantilla with an Alencon lace border and appliques on silk illusion was secured by a lace-covered Juliet cap.
Frances Jean Rogers, Arlington, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Cockrell, Woodbridge; Mrs. Cress Jacobs, Richmond, and Mrs. Susan Turner, Summerduck, Va. -- cousins of the bride. Jessica Bergden, Warwick, R.I., niece of the groom, was flower girl. They were gowned in blue floral polyester.
David Anderson, Dallas, Tex., brother of the groom was best man. The ushers were Carl Bergden, brother-in-law of the groom, John Gamache, Providence, R.I. and William Barry, Boston, Mass.
The couple is now residing in Indianapolis, Ind. after a wedding trip to Bermuda.
