In the Chapel of the U.S. Naval Academy, Virginia Porter Hustvedt was married to Allen Bolles Bartow, 2nd. Lt. USMC, at four o'clock on June 2nd. Lt. Cdr. Michael F. Burt, Chaplain USN, united in marriage the daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Roald Hustvedt of Edgewater, Md. to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Allen Bartow, Jr. of Miami, Fla. The reception was held at Bay Ridge Inn in Annapolis.
The bride's wedding dress featured a Queen Anne neckline, a bodice of lace and seed pearls, and tiers of lace on the skirt and cathedral train. Ann Whitten Morrow was maid of honor; Roberta Vogel, Lisa Owings, Victoria Ware, Emily Guthrie, and Margaret Bartow, the groom's sister, the bridesmaids. Ens. William Nixon was best man and the ushers were Ensigns John McCarthy, Daniel King, Bradford Smith; with Lt. Joseph Garrett and Boyd and Peter Bartow, brothers of the groom.
A graduate of Blair Academy (N.J.), the bride attended American University and is currently studying at Anne Arundel Community College. Until recently she was employed by the Sign O' the Whale in Annapolis. Lt. Bartow is a 1980 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and will be stationed at Quantico Marine Corps Base in July. He and his bride will honeymoon in Bermuda.
