Last Saturday afternoon in the Church of the Redeemer, Chestnut Hill, Mass., Marjorie Aileen (Line) Gavin, daughter of Lt. Gen. (USA ret.) and Mrs. James M. Gavin of Chestnut Hill and Wianno, Mass., wed Alan Churchill Ripley Lewis, son of Mrs. C. McKenzie Lewis, Jr. of Washington, D.C. and the late Mr. Lewis.
The Rev. Donald E. Bitsberger, assisted by the Rev. Linda C. Stahan, performed the ceremony. The bride's three sisters, Patricia Gavin, Chloe Gavin, and Caroline Gavin O'Neill, and the groom's three brothers, C. McKenzie Lewis III, John Van Dusen Lewis and Edward Lund Lewis, were members of the bridal party, with the groom's niece, Mathilda Greenfield Lewis, as flower girl.
Mrs. Lewis, a designer with Landon Associates in New York, is a graduate of the Mary C. Wheeler School, Pine Manor College and Boston College. She has also studied at the Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her father is a former Ambassador to France and former Chairman of the Board of Arthur D. Little, Inc., of Cambridge, Mass. Mr. Lewis, who is associated with the Pittsburgh law firm of Kirkpatrick, Lockhart, Johnson and Hutchison, is a graduate of Brooks School, Stanford University, and Columbia Law School.
After a wedding trip to Spain, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis will reside in Pittsburgh.
