The marriage of Helen Brooke McLean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William L. McLean, III, of Wynnewood, Pa., and Eldridge Thomas Katzenbach, son of Mrs. M. Thomas Katzenbach of Washington, D.C., and the late Edward L. Katzenbach, took place last Saturday in the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, Pa. The Rev. Timothy Pickering officiated.
Elizabeth Ray McLean was maid of honor for her sister and Edward L. Katzenbach III served as best man for his brother. Other bridal attendants were Sandra Lee McLean, also sister of the bride, Sarah Wells Gordon and Leila Gordon, cousins of the bride, and Ann Vauclain Klotz. Frank Eldridge Hammond, cousin of the groom, William L. McLean IV, brother of the bride, Matthew Kehoe and Richard Bensen, were ushers.
Mrs. Katzenbach, known as Brooke, was graduated from the Agnes Irwin School, Rosemont, Pa., and has just completed her sophomore year at Duke University. She will continue her studies at Smith College. Her father is former editor and publisher of The Philadelphia Bulletin and currently president of Independent Publications, Inc. She is a granddaughter of Mrs. William L. McLean, Jr. of Wynnewood, the late Mr. McLean, former vice-president and treasurer of the Bulletin; Mrs. Lars O. Peterson of Newtown Square Pa., and the late Commander Peterson, USN.
Mr. Katzenbach, who was graduated from the Pomfret School and the Unversity of Northern Arizona, teaches at Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Mass. His father was a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and the older brother of Nicholas de B. Katzenbach, former Attorney General of the United States. The groom is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Thomas of Morristown, N.J., and the late Edward L. Katzenbach, former Attorney General of New Jersey, and the late Mrs. Katzenbach. His maternal grandfather was with J. P. Morgan & Company.
