The engagement of Margaret Celeste McKinney to Stanley Norman Young, Jr. has been annouced by Dr. and Mrs. Theophilus E. McKinney, Jr. of Dover, Del., parents of the bride-to-be. Her fiance is the son of Mrs. Stanley Norman Young of West Mount Airy, Philadelphia, and the late Mr. Young. The wedding will take place in the Frist Presbyterian Church of Dover, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 12th.

Miss McKinney made her debut at the Christmas Ball in 1974 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y. She attended the Shepherd Park School in Washington, D.C., Marymount Secondary School in Tarrytown-on-the-Hudson, N.Y. AND Barat College in Lake Forest, Ill. where she majored in international business and economics. Her father is President and Chairman of the Board of Forest Industries, Incorporated.

The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Dr. Theophilus Elisha McKinney, Sr., Dean at Johnson C. Smith University and Mrs. Martha Virginia Lloyd McKinney of Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Alfred Milton Evans, a retired building contractor, and the late Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Ingraham Evans of Key West, Fla.

She is the great-granddaughter of the late Dr. George Patterson McKinney, president of Florida Memorial College, the late Mrs. Sallie Ellis McKinney of Live Oak, Fla., the late Mr. Harold Lloyd, and attorney-at-law and school teacher, the late Mrs. Lila Vaughn Lloyd of Forsyth, Ga., the late Mr. Sidney c. Evans, a shipbuilder and navigator, the late Mrs. Sarah Knottage Evans of Key West, the late Mr. James E. Ingraham, a Florida real estate developer of Miami, and Mrs. Margaret Luk Ingraham of Savannah Sound, Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

Mr. Young attended Saint Joseph's Academy in Clayton, Del., Philadelphia High School of Agriculture and Horticulture, and the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa. where he majored in child psychology and therapeutic recreation.He attended the United States Air Force Supervisory Management School in Denver, Col. and is presently stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware where he has served as a member of The Air Force Honor Guard. His father was an employe of the Gulf Oil Corporation, and his mother, Emily Greenhouse Young, is a dress designer. He is the grandson of the late Dr. Edgar Young, an Episcopal priest and missionary who served at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, the late Mrs. Maya Reynolds Young, a school teacher in Philadelphia, Mr. Joseph Greenhouse, a farmer and planter, and Mrs. Ada Mayes Greenhouse of Mansura, La.
