Rubin Diane Linowes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Robert Linowes of Chevy Chase, has married John Benjamin Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Thomas III of Roland Park, Baltimore, Md. The marriage ceremony in the Mayflower's Chinese Room was performed by Judge Fred L. McIntire of the Districk of Columbia Supreme Court. A gala reception was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Mayflower, following the afternoon wedding, with dance muscic by the Gene Donati Orchestra.
The bride was dressed in a flowing gown of candlelight satin embroidered in seed pearls designed for the bride's mother by her mother, a couturiere in Paris, France. She also wore an heirloom veil brought from Paris four generations ago by her great-grandmother.
Julie Linowes, sister of the bride, was the maid-of-honor, and sister Lisa Linowes and Lydia Thomas, the bridegroom's sister, were the bridesmaids.
The best man was John B. Thomas III, father of the bridegroom, and the ushers were J. Kemp Thomas, the bridegroom's brother, and Michael Linowes, brother of the bride.
The newlyweds, who met while at Oglethorpe University in Atlantia, Ga., have returned from their honeymoon at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. and have taken up residence in Pittsburgh, Pa.
