In the United Memorial Methodist Church on Saturday, August 16, Lynne Patterson, daughter of Mrs. Bowie Patterson and Mr. Frank Johnson Patterson, III, both of Washington, was married to Michael David McDougal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Albers McDougal of Newport, News, Virginia. The Rev. James Hunt performed the high noon ceremony and a reception followed at Columbia Country Club.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a silk organza gown designed by Philip Robertson. The shell bodice of Alencon lace was covered by a silk organza jacket trimmed with matching lace -- as was the full skirt. Sterling star lilies and sonjia roses were used to accent the church and reception area.
Leslie Bowie was her cousin's maid of honor. Barbara Bone, Jeremy Fitzgerald, Christine Goodrich, Mary Elizabeth Vogel, Diedre Walser, all of this city, and Ann Dowd of Charlotte, N.C. were bridal attendants.
Patrick McDougal, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. Walter Albers McDougal served as his son's best man. Maurice and Mitchell McDougal, brothers of the groom, Frank and Blake Patterson, brothers of the bride and Walter McCellan, were ushers.
The bride is an alumna of Holton Arms School and will graduate this spring from Shenandoah College. Mr. McDougal, a graduate of Elon College, is with Ferguson Enterprises. The couple will reside in Winchester, Va.
