Hurricane candles and baby's breath decorated Zion Baptist Church when Laura Christina Strudwick, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Warren J. Strudwick (Dr. Bette L. Catoe) of Washington, D.C., married Reginald Lamar Turner, son of Mrs. Corine Turner Graves of Palo Alto, Cal., on Sunday, August 17.

The Honorable H. Carl Moultrie I, Chief Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, performed the 6:30 candlelight ceremony assisted by the Rev. James T. Wright. Mrs. Gwendolyn Bradford and Thomas Williams rendered "Music of Love and Joy" assisted by Mrs. Judith Grove at the organ.

James McPhail and his group provided dance music for the reception which followed at Indian Springs Country Club.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a Ron Lo Vece design of English net and Venice lace dotted with tiny crystals and featured an off-the-shoulder bodice, a natural waistline, and lace chapel length train. Framing her face was a headpiece of Venice lace and crystals which held an illusion veil, and her bouquet consisted of white orchids and ivy.

Carrying hurricane candles with white orchid bibs were Marianna Roxborough of Washington, D.C., matron of honor; Dellena Cunningham, Elizabeth, N.J., maid of honor; Edith Howard Bostic, Stephanie Bostic, Wilhelminia Bradford, Wilett Bunton, Jacci Thompson Dodd, Yolanda Gaskins and sisters of the groom, Corona Lynn Crowell and Debra Lynn Graves.

Master Claude Roxborough, Jr., godson of the bride was ringbearer. Dexter Price, Washington, D.C., served as best man and groomsmen were Rodney Davis, Archie Dean, James Edwards, Edward Johnson, Kheni White, Charles Ogletree, David Wilmot, and brothers of the bride, Warren J. Strudwick, Jr. and William J. Strudwick. Ushers were Charles W. Cobb, Michael W. Cobb, James W. Cobb, Jr. and Thomas Myers.

The bride and groom received JD degrees from Georgetown Law Center. Mrs. Turner attended the Sidwell Friends School in Washington and Boston University. Mr. Turner is an alumnus of Stanford University in Palo Alto. The couple will reside in Los Angeles, Cal. after a honeymoon in the Grand Caymen Islands and Nassau.
