In a double ring ceremony, Barbara Grace Duling was given in marriage by her father to Robert Bent Hayward, Jr., with the Rev. Richard Merritt officiating in the Great Valley Presbyterian Church, Malverne, Pa., on October 4. A program of Bach was provided by Mrs. Steven Moore, organist, with special music by Mrs. Harold Miller, cellist. Bagpiper, Peter Thompson, led the bridal party into the ballroom for dinner at the Merion Cricket Club.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Irl N. Duling of West Chester, Pa. She was attended by Linda Gordon, maid of honor; Mrs. Michael Crook, Karen Lombaro, Allyson Powers; Barbara and Mary Hayward, sisters of the groom. Theodore Foster, III, was best man. Ushers were the Rev. Steven Garsted, John Fetter; Jonathan Wort and the Rev. Cliffe Knechtle, cousins of the groom, and Irl N. Duling, III, brother of the bride.
Mrs. Hayward is a graduate of the Baldwin School (Pa.) and Bucknell University (Pa.), where she received a BA in English literature. She was employed by the Congressional Prayer Breakfast Movement in Arlington Va. and Washington, D.C.
Mr. Hayward, son of Mrs. Johnston Hayward of Rosemont and Dr. Robert Bent Hayward of Newtown Square, Pa., is a graduate of the Nichols School (N.Y.) and received a BA in economics from Lafayette College. He is presently a senior loan officer with the Fidelity Bank of Philadelphia.
After a wedding trip to Sea Island, Ga., the couple will reside in Ardmore, Pa.
