The Very Rev. and Mrs. Francis B. Sayre of Vineyard Haven, Mass. announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessie Wilson, to Peter Cooper Burritt Maeck, son of Mr. William T. Maeck of Greenwich, Ct., and Mrs. Elizabeth Maeck of New York City and Allenspark, Colo. The future bride's father is dean emeritus of SS. Peter and Paul Episcopal Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
Miss Sayre is a featured dancer with the Nikolais Dance Theatre. Mr. Maeck is a playwright. After a January wedding, the couple will reside in New York City.
The future bride graduated from National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. and Yale University. She is a granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas C. Hart of Sharon, Ct. and the late Admiral Hart, (USN ret.) who had served as a Republican Senator from Connecticut, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis B. Sayre of Cambridge, Mass. Mr. Sayre was an Assistant Secretary of State in the Roosevelt Administration and Mrs. Sayre was the former Jessie Wilson, daughter of President Woodrow Wilson.
Mr. Maeck is a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College. His father is trust officer at the Union Trust Co. in Greenwich, Ct. His grandparents are Mrs. B. H. Maeck of Shelburne, Vt. and the late Mr. Maeck, and the late Dr. and Mrs. William S. Cooper of Boulder, Colo. Dr. Cooper was professor emeritus at the University of Minnesota.
