The marriage of Susan Harper Harrison, the daughter of Mr. Emmett Bruce Harrison, Jr. of Arlington, Va. and Mrs. David Reed Cowles of Old Greenwich, Ct., to Michael Dennis Tillyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar William Tillyer of New Port Richey, Fla., was celebrated by the Rev. David Tillyer, brother of the groom, in the Helen Hills Chapel, Smith College, Northampton, Mass., on Saturday, November 29. A reception at the Northampton Hilton Inn followed.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, president of E. Bruce Harrison Company, a communications management firm in Washington, D.C., in the presence of immediate families and close friends. Mary Claire Higgins was her maid of honor. Daniel Langer, was best man with Joseph Daniel Harrison, Matthew Dixon Cowles and Christopher Spain, brother and step-brothers of the bride, and William Calhoun Peterson, the bride's uncle, as the ushers.

The bride attended schools here in Arlington and in Greenwich. She is now a student at the University of Massachusetts, where she is a member of the Honor Society, and is also a teacher in special education. Mr. Tillyer holds a BFA from Windham College and is an artist and a social worker in the Northampton area. After a wedding trip to New England the couple will reside in Northampton.
