Harriet Shoemaker Offutt was married last Saturday to Peter Joseph Kennaby in St. Thomas More Church at a Nuptial Mass celebrated by the Rev. Edward Howley, pastor, assisted by the Revs. Francis Ryan, OP, and Harold Theriault, both of New York.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Lee Offutt, Jr. of San Clemente, Cal., wore a gown of matted jersey trimmed with pearl embroidery, complemented by a matching juliet cap and she carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis. Mrs. Frank Berall was matron of honor and Damian Kennaby served as his father's best man. Laura Offutt, the bride's niece, Michelle Doty and Claire Walthew were flower girls with Master Jeffrey Offutt as ring bearer for his aunt. David Gray and Richard Maulsby were ushers.
Mrs. Kennaby is the daughter of Mrs. Frank A. Lyons of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and the late Lee Offutt of Oyster Bay, L.I. and Honolulu, Hawaii. Her stepfather, Frank A. Lyons, was a partner in the law firm McMahon and Lyons, New York. The bridegroom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George L. Kennaby of Cornwall, England. The late Mr. Kennaby was with the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company in Abadan and Mobil Oil Corporation in London.
Mrs. Kennaby is a vice-president with Executive Assets Corporation, a consulting firm in Stamford, Ct. She graduated from the School of the Holy Child (N.Y.) and Rosemont College (Pa.). Formerly of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Kennaby is a member of the Junior League of Washington and the Potomac Hunt Club.
Mr. Kennaby, a senior vice-president of Campbell-Ewald Advertising in New York, is a graduate of Kings Canterbury in England and served in the Royal Navy. He is a member of the East India Club and the M.C.C. in London. His first marriage ended in divorce.
