Tilghman Island's end-of-season oyster roast is Saturday from 1 to 5. Visitors can have their fill of raw or steamed oysters, fritters or stew. Tickets are $5; $2.50 for children under 12. Follow U.S. 50 to Easton, Maryland, and take Route 33 through St. Michaels to the Island. Call 301/886-2654.

Sunday, you can play on James Monroe's lawn during Kite Day at Ash Lawn, Admission is 75 cents to the kiteless; free with a kite, and the best designed example wins a prize. Kiting hours are noon to 4; tours of the house 9 to 6. Picnics invited. Take I-66 west, U.S. 29 South, and I-64 east to Charlottesville, then follow signs. Call 804/293-9539.

Colvin Run Mill's Blacksmithing Days will recapture the old trade with 20 artisans demonstrating nail and hinge making, ornamental ironworking, forging and welding. There will be slides, films and books on Sale, plus a working restored grist mill and a general store, from noon to 5 lSaturday and Sunday. Admission is $2; $1 for children 3 to 16. The park is on Route 7 in Great Falls, Virginia, seven miles west of Tysons Corner. Call 759-2771.

A Spring Arts and Crafts Fair is at the Montgomery Count Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg with 250 artisans demonstrating and selling their works, Friday from noon to 6; Saturday and Sunday 10 to 6. Admission is $3; free for children under 12. Take the Montgomery Village Exit from I-270 and follow signs. Call 831-9191.

The Northern Virginia Antique Show at the Tysons Westpark Hotel, features formal and period furniture, porcelains, oil paintings and other select items from 50 dealers. Hours are 1 to 9 Friday, noon to 9 Saturday and noon to 6 Sunday. Admission is $2.50 for three days. Call 734-2800.

The bluebells are out in Bull Run Regional Park. You can enjoy them on the 1 1/2-mile, 13th Annual Bluebell Walk, Sunday at 2. Park entrance costs $3.25 per car, free to residents of Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun counties, Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church. Take the Centreville exit from I-66 West and follow signs.
