In a double ring ceremony, Goldie E. Smith was married to Ronald L. Watson last Saturday, April 11 in Westphalia United Methodist Church, Forestville, Md. The Rev. Dr. Roland J. R. Timity conducted the ceremony uniting the daughter of Margaret Smith Butler of Upper Marlboro, Md. to the son of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Watson of Philadelphia, Pa.
Given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Asbury Smith, the bride was lovely in a Bianchi gown of white poly-crepe fashioned with an empire bodice of beaded alencon lace, a batteau neckline, long tapered sleeves and a graceful watteau chapel train. She wore a matching headpiece which held a full length illusion veil, an she carried a crescent of gardenias, carnations, lilies of the valley, and yellow fuchsias. Her sister, Cheryl Butler, was maid of honor; Loretta B. Ward of Los Angeles, Cal., Francena S. Adams, and Mrs. Rosalind Menenfee were bridesmaids. James Watson, Jr. was his brother's best man; Ja Ja Hill, the ring bearer with Shalonda Adams and Oronde Chandler as flower girls. Milton A. Smith, Steven Smith, Adrian Carroll, and Warren Watson served as ushers.
The bride is a graduate of Central State University in Ohio and George Washington University in this city. She is a counselor in the Prince George's County schools. The groom, a graduate of Cheyney State College (Pa.) and George Washington University, is principal of Hyattsville Junior High School.
