4 a.m. -- Doors open at St. Paul's Cathedral.

4:30 a.m. -- General congregation is seated.

5:05 a.m. -- Junior members of the royal family leave St. James's Palace by car, arriving at St. Paul's at 5:15 a.m.

5:14 a.m. -- Foreign crowned heads of state leave Buckingham Palace by car, arriving at St. Paul's at 5:25 a.m.

5:18 a.m. -- Procession of clergy into the cathedral.

5:20 a.m. -- Bridesmaids and pages leave Clarence House by car, arriving at St. Paul's at 5:30 a.m.

5:20 to 5:25 a.m. -- Guard of Honor takes up position on cathedral steps for royal arrivals.

5:22 a.m. -- The queen's carriage procession, members of the royal family leave Buckingham Palace, arriving at St. Paul's at 5:42 a.m.

5:30 a.m. -- The carriage procession of the bridegroom leaves Buckingham Palace, arriving at St. Paul's at 5:50 a.m.

5:35 a.m. -- Dean and chapter (cathedral clergy), with the bishop of London and archbishop of Canterbury, in position at the West Door.

5:35 a.m. -- The carriage procession of the bride leaves Clarence House, arriving at St. Paul's at 5:55 a.m.

5:36 a.m. -- Lord Mayor of London arrives.

6 a.m. -- The bride's procession up the aisle begins the marriage ceremony. The dean reads the opening exhortation and the archbishop of Canterbury conducts the marriage and gives his blessing. Prayers are said by leaders of the Church of England, the Presbyterian Church of Scotland and the Roman Catholic Church in England. The speaker of the House of Commons reads the lesson.

7:30 a.m., approximately -- The marriage service ends.

7:20 a.m., approximately -- The carriage procession of the bride and bridegroom leaves St. Paul's for Buckingham Palace.

7:25 a.m. -- The queen's carriage procession leaves St. Paul's for Buckingham Palace.

7:42 a.m. -- Arrival of the carriage procession of the bride and bridegroom at Buckingham Palace.

7:45 a.m. -- Arrival of the queen's carriage procession; arrival of foreign crowned heads of state and other guests arrending the wedding breakfast.

8:15 a.m., approximately -- The royal family appears on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

11 a.m., approximately -- Departure of the bride and bridegroom, the prince and princess of Wales, by carriage procession to Waterloo Railway station en route to their honeymoon.
