Vows were exchanged by Judith Anne Hoffman and James Lawrence Pennington at a Nuptial Mass celebrated by Msgr. Richard Hughes, pastor, in St. Mark's Church, Hyattsville, at noon on June 27, Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Hoffman of Hyattsville, Md. and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. are parents of the bride and the groom's aparents are Mr. and Mrs. John N. Pennington of Hyattsville.

Following, a cocktail reception was held in the Mt. Vernon Room of The Madison with a luncheon in the Dolley Madison Room.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of silk organza and chantilly lace with Queen Anne neckline and bodice trimmed with pearls. Cynthia Baxter was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were claudia Hoffman and Peggy Hoffman, sister-in-law of the bride, Noreen Sliney, cousin of the groom, and Kathleen Fitzpatrick. Heather and Nicole Hoffman, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Thomas Pennington, twin brother of the groom, was best man, assisted by Michael Pennington, brother of the groom; Thomas Burns, William Garner and John Zulli. Michael Hoffman, nephew of the bride was junior groomsman.

The bride teaches second grade at Saint Ambrose School, Cheverly, Md. The groom is employed by the Washington Gas Co. The newlyweds are living Beltsville, Md., following a wedding trip to Williamsburg.
