At the time of his death Dewaere was preparing to play Cerdan in a biographical film directed by Claude Lelouch. The director is planning to go ahead with the film having hired the technical adviser on the film as his new star: Marcel Cerdan Jr. . . .

* Revival Note: English playwright David Hare's "Plenty" has achieved cult status in the theater. Actors who have read the script and discovered the rich roles and dialogue consider it one of the finest dramas of the decade. The play had its American premiere at Arena Stage in April 1980 with Blair Brown in the leading role of Susan. It was later produced in Chicago at the Goodman Theatre. A New York production has been rumored for some time. Now the rumor is a fact. In October, "Plenty" will be presented at Joseph Papp's Public Theater directed by playwright Hare and starring Kate Nelligan, who originated the part of Susan in England . . .

* Debut Note: With a number of shows closing in New York there are a number of Broadway theaters looking to be filled, so Vinette Carroll's "Your Arm's Too Short to Box With God," which has already run on Broadway and played in Washington four times, most recently in December, will return to the Great White Way. The stars will be Patti La Belle and, in his Broadway debut, born-again soul singer Al Green . . .
