"Strummers Abound," a folk concert in celebration of Labor Day weekend, is the entertainment for the E.C. LAWRENCE PARK PICNIC at Walney on Sunday 1 to 4. The music -- traditional American, Irish, Canadian and British Isles tunes -- is free, as is the picnicking at the amphitheater at 5040 Walney Road in Centreville. For Labor Day weekend at Belle Grove Plantation, see the horse at work: the DRAFT HORSE & MULE DAY is a festival of contests involving the two farm animals.
