The story of Queen Esther and the history of Purim are brought to life Sunday as area Jewish community centers and congregations celebrate this festival. At B'nai B'rith International, 1640 Rhode Island Avenue NW, there'll be baking demonstrations, face-painting, holiday folk music and "hamentaschen" served up from 2 to 5. The price is $1 for members of the Jewish Community Center of D.C.; $3 for non-members. At the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington, 6125 Montrose Road, Rockville, members can make Purim masks and noisemakers in a papercraft workshop, also on Sunday from 1 to 3. The fee, including materials, is $2.50 for members, $3.75 for non- members. At 3, there'll be a family puppet show and dinner for $6 (for adult members), and $4 for child members under 12. The non-member fee is $9 for adults; $6 for children. A combination activity price for adult members is $7.50 and $5.50 for children; $12 for adult non- members; $9 for child non-members.
