Not every outdoor entertainment site requires a lengthy drive to the country. Urbanites have easy access to Carter Barron Amphitheater, an oasis of music located at 16th and Colorado streets NW.

A breezy, comfortable setting isn't all Carter Barron offers, either. Two of the best things about it are the acoustics (wonderful, no matter where you sit) and the ticket prices, which are usually no more than $2. Often, the performances are by artists who are scheduled later for other, more expensive venues in the city. The opportunity to see them in a relaxed setting at such reasonable prices makes for some very enthusiastic audiences. Following is the Carter Barron summer schedule.
