Redskins ticket holders have it pretty tough. While everyone else can watch the game and instant replays in the comfort of home, and run to the refrigerator during commercials, some 55,045 fans have to brave the elements, cold hot dogs and traffic.

A number of area establishments understand the plight of the season-ticket holder. They know that bumper-to-bumper traffic isn't a fitting way to celebrate a Redskin Sunday and that parking should be free that day. Also understood is that the party spirit can be crushed by the press of humanity on the subway. They want to help, they really do, so they'll feed you, put a beer in your hand and bus you to the game and back. And if, when the bus returns to the restaurant, you'd like to linger over a drink and something more to eat, well, that's more than all right by them. It's all part of the game for the bus-and-brunch bunch.

The Market Inn in Southwest was a pioneer in the field and its approach remains typical. It started offering rides to old Griffith Stadium in 1959 and has since extended the partying into brunch beginning at 10 on home-game days. Prices range from $6.95 for quiche to $9.25 for eggs Benedict made with lobster. After brunch, pay $5 and climb onto the bus one hour before the game.

Many bus-and-brunch offers include beer on the bus. Remember the bus number. Buses are parked together and they all look alike after the game. Also, a speedy return to the bus is important since they leave soon after the game.
