Thanks to the NCAA tournament, everybody in town has basketball on the brain. If you're hankering to get away from the boob tube and see some roundball played in the real, however, this weekend is just what Dr. J would order. Some of the best high school hoopsters in the country will be in the McDonald's Capital Classic all-star basketball game this Sunday at the Capital Centre. A local team led by Danny Ferry of De Matha, and Sherman Douglas of Spingarn will take on national all-stars (7-foot 1-inch Tito Horford of Houston among them) starting at 2:30. Tickets range from $5.50 to $10. 301/350-3400.
If you'd rather see the big boys play, this Friday is a good time to catch the Washington Bullets. Right after their night game with the New Jersey Nets, the Four Tops will weigh in with some of their Motown hits: "I'll Be There," "I Can't Help Myself" and others. Tickets range from $5 to $14.50. Game time is 7:30. To get there, take Beltway exit 15A or 17A and follow the signs to Capital Centre. Call 301/350-3400 for more information. $130,Picture, Danny Ferry. By Molly Roberts
