The Catholic Relief Services is launching a mass appeal to clothe Ethiopian children. The world charity plans to collect and send 500,000 T-shirts to Ethiopia, according to a CRS spokeswoman. She also said MTV will appeal to its viewers next week to send in their T-shirts and will donate 1,000 MTV shirts.
Harriet Sternberg of USA for Africa, which produced the "We Are the World" album and single to raise money for the starving African people, said the group will be asking T-shirt manufacturers for donations . . .

The issue springs from the question of whose features to adopt for "Marianne," a stone bust of a woman that decorates town halls across the country. Bardot's features have been used since the 1960s.
