* The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, along with other physique fans, will sponsor free fitness tests on the Mall in front of the Air and Space Museum this Saturday. From 11 to 4, experts will put you through various exercises, cardio-vascular examinations and fat-percentage tests and then give you suggestions on honing that bod. 862-9650.

* The Park Service is going all out for this Sunday's George Washington Parkway Classic 15-kilometer foot race, shutting all lanes of the parkway between Mount Vernon and Franklin Street in Alexandria from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The 9.3-mile race kicks off at 8 a.m. at Mount Vernon and finishes at Lee Street on Jones Point in Alexandria where bagpipers and a bluegrass band will perform. Register for $10 from 11 to 4 Saturday at Jones Point. To register, take South Royal Street, to Jones Point Road, and follow it to the Park Service's green house. 780-3037.

* Or you can trot along the streets of downtown this Sunday in the Home Town Run and Festival. At 8 a.m., a 15K will take off from Western Plaza at 14th and Pennsylvania; shortly thereafter, a 3K will be held. Register for the 15K on Saturday between 10 and 4 at the Washington Urban League, 3501 14th Street NW. Registration fee is $9. Register for the 3K at the race site for $3. After the running around, cool down with live music, clowns and a food fair. Call 265-8200.

* You can work your body at an aerobics marathon at McPherson Square, 15th and K streets NW, this Friday. There'll be one- hour workouts from 8 to 6 led by the staff of Great Bodies! Inc. exercise studio. Fees are $5 and proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital. 293-1950.
