That BBC film crew shooting the movie "Mirror Image," starring Tommy Lee Jones, was at Trumpets restaurant with the Connecticut Avenue eatery playing the part of a Geneva cafe'. "Mirror Image" has something to do with spies and the CIA. The filmmakers didn't know it but Trumpets' owner Allen McKelvie is the stepson of former CIA director Richard Helms . . .

It's only recently that women over 40 have gained status as sex symbols, and now men over 60 can take heart with the October McCall's magazine in its list of the 10 sexiest American men, 60 or older. The youngest on the list is Paul Newman at 60. The others are Cary Grant and Isaac Bashevis Singer, both 81, President Reagan, 74, Frank Sinatra, 69, Joe DiMaggio, 70, John Huston, 79, Norman Mailer, 62, John Forsythe, 67, and Lee Iacocca, 60 . . .

Now that George Starke has retired from the Redskins lineup, why should he have watched last night's game from the stadium when he can, like most sane fans, watch it on television? Starke was scheduled to be at Champions in Georgetown, where the new beer Hog Brew was being unveiled. The new beverage, so new that Champions owner Michael O'Harro was busy this week pasting labels on the can, is to be the official drink of the Hogs. It is described as a "superior quality beer not authorized by the NFL".
