FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY:

"Polka Motion by the Ocean," Convention Center, Ocean City. Continuous music and dancing, dance lessons, records, novelties, polka personalities, food. 301/551-2812.

SEPTEMBER 19-22 -- The 11th Annual Ocean City Sunfest, on the inlet. Ocean City's largest post-season party offers continuous music (barbershop, gospel, country, big band, ragtime, dixieland) and dancing shows, much food, arts and crafts tents, kite contests, softball tournament, fun run, windsurfing slalom, kite flying contests. 301/289-2800.

SEPTEMBER 20-22 -- Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce's annual fall sidewalk sale, including Saturday's Fall Arts & Crafts Fair. 302/227-2233.

OCTOBER 4-5 -- 4th Annual Bavarian Festival, Ocean City Convention Center. Bavarian music and dance, foods (knockwurst, bratwurst, homemade goulash, German pastries), beers, arts and crafts booths, gifts, puppet shows. 301/289- 2800.

OCTOBER 4-6 -- All Saints Christmas Shop, Rehoboth Beach Convention Hall. 302/227-2233.

OCTOBER 6 -- Delaware Coast Day, University of Delaware College of Marine Studies, Lewes. Annual open house includes research exhibits, tours, films, flea market, seafood stands, Coast Guard helicopter rescue demonstration. 302/645- 4235.

OCTOBER 10-12 -- Sixth Annual Mid-Atlantic Surf Fishing Tournament, Ocean City. Sponsored by the Ocean City Anglers Club and Chamber of Commerce. 301/289-5414
