The newest corporate college -- The National Technological University -- may be the prototype of corporate campuses to come. With its central office in Fort Collins, Colo., NTU plans to teleconference its courses this fall to corporations nationwide, enabling students to view recorded lectures at their convenience. It reflects a school-goes-to-the-student trend in education.
Established last year through the cooperation of IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Digital Equipment, NCR, RCA, Westinghouse and Control Data Corp., NTU enrolled 500 students from across the United States. It has no residency requirements and offers only a master of science degree in computer engineering and engineering management. It will soon add MS programs in electrical, mechanical and industrial engineering.
