And still another chapter in the warm love story of failed automaker John DeLorean and his former wife Cristina Ferrare: The People Magazine Picture-Perfect Couple, who portrayed such togetherness during DeLorean's trial on drug charges until he was acquitted, are back in court. They are wrangling in their divorce battle over what is always really important: money.

Ferrare's attorney, David Dean, said in the New Jersey divorce action that DeLorean, 60, browbeat his wife into signing a prenuptial agreement that could rob her of her share in his fortune. He said DeLorean threatened to break off his engagement with former model Ferrare just hours before their May 8, 1973, wedding if she took her lawyer's advice and refused to sign the agreement.

If the New Jersey judge upholds the prenuptial agreement, DeLorean would be permitted to keep the property he brought into the 11-year marriage, shutting the 35-year-old Ferrare, now a $275,000-a-year California television talk show host, out of a $3.5-million estate in Bedminster, N.J., and a $5-million Park Avenue apartment. DeLorean's attorney says Ferrare signed the agreement willingly and with full knowledge of the legal rights she was waiving.
